Game Description
The War on Terror was launched by the United States in response to the 9/11 attacks in 2001. It is an international military campaign. The main objective was to eradicate terrorist organizations like AL- Qaeda and later ISIS (Islamic State) in order to prevent future acts of terrorism worldwide. With major players such as NATO allies and other coalition forces, this global conflict contributed to significant military operations in Iraq Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan.
The invasion of Afghanistan to dismantle the Taliban regime was the most important perspective of the War on Terror, which harbored Al-Qaeda. The campaign were further expanded with the Iraq War in 2003, justified by claims of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). The execution of counter terrorism policies like USA PATRIOT ACT, done strikes and improved surveillance programs were also seen by the War on Terror.
